Welcome to the MFC Popley website!
Based in Popley within the town of Basingstoke, MFC Popley was founded in 2005 and is run by a fantastic team of committed volunteers. We are dedicated to coaching boys and girls of all age groups (year R and above) to play football. We provide the children with encouragement along with a fun, friendly and safe environment where they can thrive and learn the game of football from qualified coaches. We are passionate about providing an environment that encourages children of all abilities to learn and enjoy everything that football has to offer.
We are an FA Charter Standard Club which is achieved by demonstrating all the appropriate practices to ensure that the children are safe and free to express themselves and have as much fun as possible whilst doing it.
MFC Popley will have teams from various age groups competing in the Peter Houseman Youth League on Sundays and North East Hants Youth League on a Saturday.

Our under 9’s reds have just won the north east hants cup…absolutely fantastic football and determination…as always brilliant sportsmanship shown and an amazing representation for mfc popley

Our under 11's had an amazing down as team mascots for Basingstoke Town FC in their 3rd round FA Trophy game which they went on to win 3-0 with a fantastic performance. Everyone at BTFC were so welcoming to the boys and couldn't do enough for us. The players signed the boys matchday programmes and we even got a full page dedicated to the boys!!
All the boys thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and will remember this day for years to some.

Our under 9 reds have brought the cup home for the championship in the sandhurst tournament today…excellent football on show and great sportsmanship…our young footballers really do
make us proud time and time again with their fantastic attitude for the game…well done boys and coaches

A huge congratulations to our fantastic U10's team who won the Basingstoke Colts plate tournament today.
The boys played some sublime football at times with the semi-final and final both going to penalties!
In the final the boys were a goal down, but never gave up and equalized with a worldy. The boys kept their nerve in the shootout to finally win a tournament that these talented boys have deserved over the years. Great to see so many smiles on their faces and what a start to a birthday it was for one of the boys!

Congratulations to our U12 Panthers on winning the plate competiotion at the basingstoke Colts tournament.
The team played some great football and en route to the final they had to play against our other U12's team! it was a very tense affair but the Jaguars came out on top and then went on to win the final.
A really good tournament for MFC Popley today with plenty of silverware being added to the cabinet!

A massive congratulations to our under 7 (Saturday) familiy winning our club team of the season award.
Led by coaches Andy Darmody and Rich Brownhill, this team have shown massive progression throughout the season.
After a very tough start, the coaches, players and parents have kept faith in their team and finished strongly.
One key point on this team is that no matter what, they always had a huge smile on their faces.
A great example of what this club is all about!

Our amazing U8's team won the plate competition at the Oakley tournament. A fantastic achievement by the team who really enjoyed their first taste of tournament football
